Jeremiah brown

Jeremiah Brown is a mixed media artist specializing in digital art and photography. Brown has been studying Graphic Design at Tulane University School of Professional Advancement since 2017. He will be working with College and Career Advisor Darryl White to find and transfer to another art program this year. He graduated from New Orleans International High School in 2017 and is currently a senior guild artist at YAYA where he assists the glass blowing studio for special events and demonstrations. 

Brown has participated in numerous residencies across the USA, most recently at Penland School of Craft in Spruce Pine, North Carolina where he studied cyanotype and long-exposure photography. He also learned to make handmade paper using bits of nature foraged from the Blue Ridge mountains. Other residencies he has attended include the Oxbow School in Napa Valley, California and a weeklong stay in Asheville, North Carolina interning with The Village Potters and North Carolina Glass. In the summer of 2017, he participated in Expanding Horizons, a week-long residency for the country's top students in glass arts at the Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, New York. Brown’s art practice includes glass blowing, digital design, comic design, and animation.Jeremiah brown creates work around self love and mental health. His work is done as a mosaic style and inspired by the process of scarification, Afrofuturism and his thoughts of the future.

Jeremiah Brown is an active member of the YAYA guild, which he joined in 2014.
