Quinton HAKEEM

The first time Quinton Hakeem remembers drawing was when he was about four years old when it was Easter and he drew a big bunny for his mom. Quinton has been doing art ever since and he can't really choose his favorite kind of art-he enjoys everything, from visual arts to fashion design to music. Quinton is also a musician and a YAYA Urban Heroes Art Enrichment mentor for several middle & high schoolers in the New Orleans area. He loves working with kids and showing them different techniques & styles of visual art. YAYA is a huge part of Quinton's life, and he's very thankful that the organization has sent him around the world especially a couple of years ago when he got to visit Paris and design an album cover for the Hot8 Brass Band. Quinton Gilmore loves art because it expresses who he is and it's not just something he knows how to do.
