Solange Ledwith began working with glass in 2002 at Chico State University, CA, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree.  Shortly after, she made her way to Los Angeles where she completed her Master's of Art degree at California State University of Fullerton.  Solange was fortunate to be able to study with and work professionally with Los Angeles’ finest artists and glass makers.  It was there that she learned to love the delicate art of precision glass working. To further advance her working skills and knowledge, Solange spent many summers at the Pilchuck Glass School in Washington where she was exposed to incredible talent that came from all over the world.

In 2010, Solange made her way back to her birth home, New Orleans.  It was here that she really began to learn about what is important; love for family and home, and an appreciation for how precious life is.  In 2013, she joined the Air Force Reserves because she felt a need to give back.  It was a way of saying "thanks" for having the freedom to pursue her love and passions.  These are simple qualities of life that are not to take for granted.  When she returned home from a deployment, she had an inspired motivation to take even less for granted; to take the leap and start a business that focuses on educating her community about the arts, material, and a better understanding of process.  With that, 'Swamp Girl Glass Blowing LLC' was launched.  With ‘Swamp Girl Glass Blowing LLC’, Solange is able to provide private lessons, create-your-own classes, and mixed media art classes to her community, her fellow veterans, and several surrounding homeschool groups.

Solange’s core foundation remains fond of the delicate aesthetics of precision glass and has now found a way to balance that precision with more colorful and playful designs.

"I love what I do, and my world has become more playful and brighter because of it. My hope is to share that delight for life and art with my community and to promote the development of a better society."
